BRADY B-693 MATTE METALLIZED POLYESTER LABEL STOCK

TDS No. B-693
Effective Date: 09-Dec-1999

Description:
Brady B-693 is a metallized polyester film with a matte printable topcoat and a permanent acrylic pressure sensitive adhesive.

Brady B-693 is used primarily as a low cost metallized polyester identification label or rating plate material. Variable information can be added using a dot matrix printer. The Brady Series 2000 and 5000 ribbons are recommended for dot matrix printing of B-693.

Brady B-693 has good smudge resistance, solvent resistance, and elevated temperature performance. Brady B-693 exhibits good adhesion to many metal and other types of surfaces, but is not recommended for applications on low surface energy plastics or extremely rough surfaces.

CHEMICAL RESISTANCE

Samples were printed with Series 2000 and 5000 ribbons, laminated to aluminum panels, and dwelled 24 hours prior to test. Testing consisted of 5 cycles of 10 minute immersions in the specified chemicals followed by 30 minute recovery periods. After the final immersion the samples were rubbed 10 times with cotton swabs saturated with test fluid. Testing was conducted at room temperature.
